DJ Aki cut his teeth working at New York record shop Breakbeat Science in the mid 90s, and as a resident DJ at the city’s Science Lab events at the awesome Twilo. Returning to Tokyo in 2001, he became a resident at the world famous Womb club. His label 06S, and his production outfit ES9 have brought further attention to the city’s thriving drum & bass scene, particularly through Hospital Records’ compilation ‘The Future Sound of Tokyo’. International touring has made Aki the face of Japanese drum & bass abroad, and he has recently appeared here at The End for Ram Records and Swerve.
