Geeneus is the co-founder and chief of Rinse FM, the king of the London pirate radio scene. Running since 1994, the label has been at the heart of the development of every home-grown underground scene London has produced since then, from jungle to garage to grime to dubstep and more, championing the likes of Pay As You Go Cartel, Wiley, Dizzee Rascal and more recently Skream, Youngsta and Kode 9. Geeneus as a DJ is a pioneer, pushing new music and refusing to be confined to any one scene or sub-genre, his ‘Rinse’ compilation showcasing the best of dubstep, grime and house whilst his production talents have seen him behind the boards for tracks on Wiley’s latest album on Big Dada. Geeneus and Rinse have an inexorable link to London club night FWD which has been a bastion for the dubstep sound throughout its growth. In the summer of 2007 they held a joint night at The End with a line up that read like a who’s who of the dubstep and grime scene.
