Meat Katie, aka Mark Pember, started his musical career aged 17 in a band called Trafalgar, signed to Iggy Pop’s label Kill City.  When the band ran its course, Mark got into sampling and programming beats. After making a few tracks as Ceasefire with production partner Derek Dahlarge they were signed to Wall of Sound during big beat’s early days.  After a few releases he moved on from Wall of Sound, and begun releasing music on Kingsize.  He became an instrumental part of the breaks scene, with two artist albums on Kingsize and a stream of massive 12”s.  His Whole 9 Yards label became highly regarded within the scene, with a back catalogue loaded with titans of breaks such as B.L.I.M., Rennie Pilgrem, Dylan Rhymes and Elite Force.  More recently he’s started Lot 49, a label focusing on the dancefloor with the best of house, electro and breaks, talent including D Ramirez, Koma & Bones and loads of Meat Katie!  One of the scene’s most revered talents, Meat Katie is a wizard behind the decks with dancefloor rocking breaks, house, electro and even the odd techno tune.
