DJ Profile
London-based DJ Miss Jools is not only a well known figure on the underground scene but is also thefounder and resident at Clandestino, London's most infamous Sunday night affair. This is a sophisticated house club soundtracked by driving underground music and frequented by a hedonistic crowd who look as good as the music sounds. Clandestino brings diversity to its nights with international guests such as Locodice, Gabriel Ananda, Dinky, Anja Schneider, Guido Schneider, Chloe and Clive Henry to name but a few. As a DJ, Miss Jools' sets are a varied melting pot of solid underground deep house beats, tech and minimal, right through to techno.
In 2006, Miss Jools entered the world of production via a collaboration with Audiofly - on a project that they called Sleeper Thief. Their first release 'Free Ride EP', was signed by UK label 64 Recordings, and received massive support from the likes of Luciano, M.A.N.D.Y., Dominic Eulberg, Locodice and Damian Lazarus to name a few. Their second release was snapped up by Anja Schneider's German label Mobilee, and they continued to release on the label through 2007. Sleeper Thief have various remixes already under their belt, including a remix for Phonique on Tiefschwartz's new label Souvenir.
Miss Jools is also the head buyer of the electronic music section in one of London's longest standing records shops, BM-Soho (formerly known as Black Market Records). Even with her busy DJing schedules and studio work, her love affair with vinyl keeps her finding a few days a week to stay firmly rooted in the record shop that she has supported and worked at for many years.
