Biography

Vicious Circle is comprised of four South London boys with a taste for dark and dark drum & bass.  Inspired by the techstep sounds of the late 90s, they set about writing their own brand of murky future funk.  After early support for their work from the likes of Pendulum, Technical Itch and Keaton they were offered the opportunity to remix any track from the Universal Project back catalogue.  Their interpretation of UP’s ‘Jackhammer’ was devastating and alerted Renegade Hardware to their talents; the remix was duly released as part of the Universal Project EP ‘Black Techno’.  More and more labels began to take interest in Vicious Circle, with Kryptic Minds’ Defcom label signing their collaboration with EBK ‘Apparition’, and Blue Lagoon/Contagious picking up their deep roller ‘Avalanche’, with Hardware also releasing their minimal stomper ‘Doomtrain’ on the ‘Guerilla Warfare LP’.   Collaborations with Chase & Status, Corrupt Souls and another with Universal Project followed, and as their production career snowballed releases and remixes begun to flow thick and fast.  Since then they’ve gone on to release on Trace’s legendary DSCI4, Dylan’s Freak Recordings and even remix hip hop royalty in the shape of Pharoah Monche. Vicious Circle are on the fringes of the drum & bass elite, and with an highly anticipated album in the works, they’re close to joining the upper echelons.  Their firmly established residency at Renegade Hardware’s events here at The End sees them spinning future beats and basslines on a regular basis…not to be missed.
